Mafia II is priced at $29.99 in the US ($20.99 PlayPack), £14.99 in the UK (£10.49 PlayPack) and €39.99 in Belgium (€27.99 PlayPack).
Mafia II is a third-person action-adventure game published by 2K Games and developed by 2K Czech. Before 2K Czech was acquired by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games, they were known as Illusion Softworks and developed the predecessor to Mafia II, a game titled Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven that was a cult hit among PC gamers and later on consoles. Let's hope that this game also finds its way into the OnLive PlayPack. They've also developed other great games like Hidden & Dangerous and Hidden & Dangerous 2, and Vietcong and Vietcong 2. These games would also be great additions to the OnLive PlayPack.
Expanding upon the original hit that captivated more than 2 million gamers around the world, 2K Czech takes players deeper into the Mafia with a mature and exciting experience that will immerse players like never before.
Featuring a deep mobster-driven narrative packed with both behind-the-wheel and on-foot action, Mafia II is the sequel fans have been clamoring for. Like the original Mafia title, Mafia II immerses players in the mob underworld of a fictitious late 1940's-early 1950's scenario. Players easily become engaged in the game's cinematic Hollywood movie experience with strong, believable characters in a living, breathing city.
Powered by 2K Czech's next-generation engine built specifically for Mafia II, players will experience the true evolution of the Mafia game that defined a genre. Gunfights, hand-to-hand combat and vehicular exploration feature new depth and dimension that allow players to experience the world of Mafia II in a way that will keep them coming back for more.
In the unlikely circumstance that players get bored with the gameplay, they can look around Empire Bay for vintage Playboy magazines and enjoy the sight and smiles of many handsome Playboy bunnies from foregone eras. Judging by the many Mafia II Brag Clips created showing Playboy pin-ups in various (un)tasteful poses, this pastime is quite popular for Mafia II gamers on OnLive.
- Immersive Gangster Experience: Through strong, authentic characterization, compelling narrative and stunning presentation, the mature storyline will make players understand the pull and impossible escape of life in the Mafia.
- Action-Packed Gameplay: Take part in heart-stopping car-to-car chases, visceral hand-to-hand combat and intense gunplay, all of which come together to form a deep and engrossing gameplay experience.
- Illusion Engine: 2K Czech's proprietary Illusion Engine, allows gamers to explore Empire Bay's 10 square miles while transitioning from beautifully rendered outdoor environments to intricately designed interiors seamlessly without the need for loading times.
