OnLive Desktop App for iPad was Ranked the Number One Free iPad App on iTunes

The free OnLive Desktop App for iPad released just before last weekend and climbed from the status of nobody to the number one free iPad App on iTunes over the weekend. Only today it was overtaken by Temple Run, a game which is avilable on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, to hold the second place.

It looks like many people were and still are curious to test out the full Microsoft Office productivity suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint running on a cloud streamed version of Windows 7 on Apple's device. The free OnLive Desktop App for iPad also includes 2 GB of free cloud storage and other Windows 7 utilities and games. The free OnLive Desktop App for iPad doesn't include a web browser.

So many people testing out the free OnLive Desktop App for iPad and giving generally great customer ratings bodes well for OnLive before the launch of the OnLive Desktop Pro version for $9.99 per month with 50GB of cloud storage, priority access, additional Apps, a web browser and other features. The company also plans to launch an enterprise version in the future that will allow customers to run their own applications, share documents or work on virtual whiteboards.

The OnLive Desktop App will later also be available on Android devices, PCs, Macs, TVs and other devices.
