The Free OnLive Desktop App for iPad is Available from the Apple iTunes App Store

The free OnLive Desktop App for iPad is available to download from the Apple iTunes App Store. The App lets you use a cloud streamed version of a Windows 7 desktop and the full Windows PC App of Microsoft Office 2010 with Word, Excel and PowerPoint included. Additionally you get 2 GB of free cloud storage.

Here are more features of the App:
  • Calculator, Notepad, Paint are included.
  • Can’t Install Apps on free Version.
  • To get files into and out of OnLive Desktop, you can log into a Web site on your PC or Mac, where you see all the documents you’ve saved to your cloud repository.
  • Requires at least 1 megabit per second of download speed, and works best with at least 1.5 to 2.0 megabits.
  • OnLive Desktop can’t use the iPad’s built-in virtual keyboard, but it can use the virtual keyboard built into Windows 7 and Windows’ limited touch features and handwriting recognition.
  • The App doesn’t support common file-transfer services like Dropbox or SugarSync. OnLive says it hopes to add those.

OnLive also plans to launch an OnLive Desktop Pro version for $9.99 per month with 50GB of cloud storage, priority access, additional Apps, a web browser and other features. The company also plans to launch an enterprise version in the future that will allow customers to run their own applications, share documents or work on virtual whiteboards.

The OnLive Desktop App will later also be available on Android devices, PCs, Macs, TVs and other devices.
