Dead Island will not see an October release for OnLive According to Deep Silver Inc.

Excited for smashing up some zombie chow in Dead Island for OnLive? You’ll have to hold off that anticipation for at least another month before you can play the undead vacation thriller, according to Jon Schutts of Deep Silver.

Dead Island has been pushed out of an October release date for the OnLive Cloud distribution service. According to Mr. Schutts, the game is being held back for patches on other consoles and for the PC version.

Here’s what Jon Schutts had to say:
Unfortunately I do not yet have a date for this but I do know it has been pushed out of October. Patches for the PC and console versions set this back (as well as the planned DLC). Feel free to check back at the end of the month and I’ll let you know if I have any updates.
Best regards,
While many users will be bummed to not see an October release, the extra wait time could mean better performance for the OnLive port. It is no secret that Dead Island has received many critiques by the media for buggy gameplay woes, and so we hope that the OnLive version will be receiving these updates as well (assuming they are related to the aforementioned issues).
