UK and European Gamers are Again Able to Play 2K Games Titles

Just before the OnLive launch in the UK, gamers from the UK and Europe are again able to play games from publisher 2K Games. The only country in which 2K Games' games are not available is Germany, which has a strict game violence law. Among the games are Mafia II, MLB 2K10, NBA 2K10 & 2K11, BioShock, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, and Duke Nukem Forever.
When OnLive first became available in Europe, via the U.S. servers, 2K Games’ titles were accessible from there. However, quickly thereafter, they were abruptly removed for users accessing OnLive via IP addresses outside of the U.S. and Canada. There were many complaints, but the fact remained that these users were not supposed to be accessing OnLive yet anyhow.

On Thursday, this will all change though, with the launch of the OnLive UK servers. At this time, OnLive will also implement payment methods for those living in the UK. It also means that European gamers will now begin to see how great OnLive runs. Those accessing the service through the U.S. servers were certainly not getting the quality service that they will be getting starting on Thursday.

Some of the reasons for this temporary omission of 2K Games' titles from Europe might be conflicts between European and U.S. publishers, differences in censorship and game features.
